Director, Family Advocacy Registration and EngagementStudentSilvia Montenegro is the Director for Family Advocacy and Community Engagement in Aurora Public Schools where she works to build strategic partnerships and services to benefit children, youth and families. Silvia also has a background in grants, and one of her main accomplishments in education was the founding of the APS Welcome Center, a newcomer student and family serving program in 2015.
Silvia is passionate about stakeholder engagement, strategy, global issues and children and youth. Silvia holds a Master's degree in International Human Rights from Joseph Korbel School of International Studies at University of Denver where she studied as an international student. She has previous international experience in working with global issues in counter-trafficking and humanitarian aid programs. She is also a co-founder of a nonprofit serving immigrant families. |
